Wow - what an exciting finish for the WMGA`s "A" and "B" Match Play Championships at Ardsley Country Club today. Finalists Ami Gianchandani and Grace Lu put on a shot- making exhibition with the match changing hands multiple times, and it was Grace who triumphed when her putt dropped on the 18th hole. The future of women`s golf is secure in the hands of these young, talented competitors! Michele LeMoal-Gray and Peggy Tierney met in the "B" Championship, and Michele roared back from three down to tie the match on the 17th. They didn`t disappoint the spectators with their play on 18, and for the 2nd consecutive year, Michele is the "B" Match Play Champion. Congratulations to the winners!!

What an anniversary year this is turning out to be for the WMGA!! At 8:30 this morning semi-final play will begin for the 120th "A" Match Play and 7th "B" Match Play Championships at Ardsley Country Club. Vying for the trophy for the "A`s" are four golfers who were recently in the chase for either the NJSGA or NYSGA`s Women`s Am title! Let`s hear it for Ami, Grace, Olivia and Samantha! In the hunt for the "B`s" are four of our seasoned tournament players - go get `em Kathleen, Michele, Niamh and Peggy! We`re ready for two rounds of competitive golf!!

Yesterday, it was all about the team at the WMGA`s Best Ball of Four Club Team Tournament. Mountain Ridge Country Club was the perfect setting for this celebration of women`s golf!

Our Founders had to be beaming today as 20 teams, representing their clubs, competed in the WMGA`s Best Ball of Four Club Tournament. Rye GC took top Gross honors with a one-under par 72, and New Jersey National GC claimed Low Gross with a 13-under 60. The gift for the top team was a Tremont Sporting Co valuables pouch featuring our 125th Anniversary Logo. Congratulations to all the winners and a huge thank you to Mountain Ridge CC for hosting the event.
