2012 Scholarship Recipients
Alina graduated from West Windsor-Plainsboro High School South and will be in the SAS Honors Program at Rutgers University in the fall. She is from Princeton, New Jersey. She played on her high school’s varsity golf team for 4 years and was also captain of the team. She did community service at the First Tee of Greater Trenton, where she was the assistant golf coach. At Rutgers, she plans to study biophysics.
Kathleen graduated from Goshen High School, where she was a member of the National Honor Society, and she will be attending Susquehanna University in the fall. She is from Goshen, New York. She played on her high school’s golf team for 4 years and was captain for 2 years. Kathleen teaches young golfers how to play at Eagle Drive Golf Camp; the camp she where she learned to play golf. At Susquehanna, she plans to study secondary education and history and plans to eventually become a history professor.
Jessica graduated from Point Pleasant Borough High School, where she was a member of the National Honor Society, and this fall she will be attending Monmouth University. She is from Point Pleasant, New Jersey. Jessica started playing golf at the age of 3 and was first taught by her grandfather. She continued to play on her high school’s boys’ varsity team for 4 years and was captain for 3 years. Jessica plans to study chemistry, communications, and advertising at Monmouth.
Carly graduated from Roy C. Ketchan High School and will be attending SUNY Albany in the fall. She is from Wappingers Falls, New York. She was captain of her high school golf team and was ranked all section for section 1. At SUNY Albany, she plans to study health and clinical lab sciences and hopes to eventually have a career in pathology and hematology research.
Erin graduated from Hauppauge High School, where she was a member of the National Honor Society. She will be attending Clarion University in the fall where she will also play golf. She is from Smithtown, New York. At her high school, Erin played on the golf team and was also captain. At Clarion University she plans to study speech language pathology, which will lead her into a career as a speech pathologist. She also hopes to teach golf on the side.
Grace graduated from West Windsor-Plainsboro High School South and will be attending Boston College this fall. She lives in Plainsboro, New Jersey. At her high school, Grace played on the varsity golf team where she was a captain for 2 years. She also volunteered to work with kids at the First Tee Program. At Boston College, where she is in the Honors Program, she plans to study biology in order to eventually become a pediatrician.
Hailey graduated from Trumbull High School and will be attending the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill in the fall. She is from Trumbull, Connecticut. Hailey’s love of the game came from her experiences with her father; volunteering in his pro shop and caddying for him at tournaments. Finance and marketing are what she plans to study in college, so working in her dad’s pro shop has given her many experiences that have helped her to grow.
Sarah graduated from Clifton High School and will be attending SUNY Cortland in the fall. She is from Clifton, New Jersey. For all 4 years of high school, Sarah played on her school’s golf team and was captain for 1 year. At Cortland, she plans to study communications and eventually have a career in multi-media film and broadcasting.
Manali graduated Passaic County Tech High School and is attending Rutgers University in the fall. She is from Passaic, New Jersey. Manali started playing golf with her uncle and developed a love for the game through him. In addition to golf, Manali has volunteered for many organizations to give back to her community. At Rutgers, she plans to study biology.
Sarah graduated from Stuyvesant High School and will be in the Macaulay Honors Program at Hunter College in the fall. She is from College Point, New York. She is a member of the National Honor Society. Sarah was the captain of her high school golf team and was also ranked number 1 player in New York City. Sarah hopes to become an oncologist, so she is planning to study pre-medicine and biochemistry in college.
