WMGA Scholarship Foundation, Inc.
The Women’s Metropolitan Golf Association Scholarship Foundation, Inc. was established in 2001 as a charitable organization to provide scholarships to deserving young women attending an institution of higher learning who have an interest in golf or golfing activities. Scholarships are awarded on the basis of integrity, character, leadership, academic achievement, extra-curricular activities, civic or volunteer programs and financial need without regard to race, religious belief or national origin.
Scholarship recipients will be selected from candidates who are residents of the New York Metropolitan area and have fulfilled the selection criteria. Applications are available at the WMGA office (914) 592-7888 or online.
One of our major sources of funding is through the Medallion Program. In accordance with their contribution level, donors can become members of the Par-Birdie-Eagle-Double Eagle Clubs. Special engraved brass medallions are given to acknowledge their contribution level.
Some clubs may choose to contribute to the Fund by holding their own “Foundation Days” dedicated to assisting the girls.
The Foundation is extremely grateful for the generous support previously given by so many of the WMGA members and local golf organizations. It has also provided an appropriate way in which to remember those members or family members who are no longer with us. Thank you for all you do.
